September 2009 Paw Prints
Greetings Friends of Fancy Cats!
Cat Show Wrap-Up!
This year's National Capital Cat Show was another success! We received several applications for Luca, whom we brought along, and he's already settled into his new forever home! Roly & Dabney, and all the kittens from Sunday are still looking, so if you saw them and want to take them home, e-mail us today!
We also received donations totaling $954! Our t-shirts were very popular again this year, and thanks to Beverly, we also had some fantastic custom luggage tags! We so enjoyed talking with everyone who has adopted from us before and stopped by to give us an update (please send us photos! )! We also got lots of great ideas for next year's booth!

Reston Rummage Sale Success! Henry & Julie Spall had a good day at the Fall Reston Community Sale, netting over $200 for Fancy Cats. More importantly, almost 75% of the items donated by FCRT supporters were sold. This was on top of over $200 in sales on Craig's List over Labor Day weekend. Henry & Julie are having their own garage sale for FCRT over the weekend of 26/27 September. Henry has also started to sell specialized items on eBay. Please look through your storage room for unwanted items that could be sold. Best sellers are CD's and DVD's, small appliances, vintage toys, and bicycles. Contact Henry at geordie@his.com.

Strategic Planning Meeting Fancy Cats has been growing at an exponential rate and it's time to use that momentum to move us to the next level! The FCRT Board of Directors and a task force of Fancy Cats volunteers, under the direction of Gail Rissler of Rissler Consulting, recently met and developed a five-year strategic plan to manage our growth and implement new programs and services. The plan is available on our website. We've started developing tactical plans that set specific targets, benchmark goals, timelines and responsibilities to implement the plan and ensure our success. If you want to be part of our continued growth and new initiatives, send an email to volunteer@fancycats.org today!

Featured Cats - Twice as Nice
Spooky was rescued with his sibling Oberon. They are very easy going, sweet cats who need to kept together. Spooky is friendly and outgoing, quite a talker and will be eager to see you every time you come through the door. He prefers playing and exploring to cuddling right now, but we know that will change. He loves people, and playing with his brother!
Oberon was rescued with Spooky and is a quiet boy, a little shy at first and apt to hiding for a bit, but he LOVES to snuggle and be held. These two boys are the perfect complementary pair - one outgoing and rambunctious, the other snuggly and quiet.
We have a bunch of other great kitties who do not do well at adoption fairs. If you are interested in meeting one of our featured kitties, or any of those other wonderful adults, please email us to set up an appointment.
