This form is NOT FOR RETURNING a cat you've adopted from us. If you need to RETURN an adopted cat, please email us at info@fancycats.org to start the return process.
Fancy Cats Rescue Team is approached daily by people who need help rehoming a pet or placing a friendly stray in a new home and do not want to take the risk of placing the cat in a shelter. We responded to this need in our adoption area of Northern Virginia by offering to post these cats to multiple online pet listings and prescreening applicants who wish to adopt. We screen potential adopters to make sure that it is a good fit for your pet, getting veterinary references and verifying rental agreements. Fancy Cats also has a return policy where we will take back any cat(s) adopted through us, providing peace of mind for former owners. This is a win/win all around and reduces cats ending up at local shelters where euthanasia rates can run as high as 95% for owner releases. **Due to our limited resources we only take owner released cats in the immediate Northern Virginia area. We are not able to respond to requests from outside this area.**

Please provide a personality profile for the cat(s) needing to be placed. The more information we can provide to adopters, the better our chances of placing your cat. Some things to consider include; How playful? Likes to be held? Likes to sleep on your bed? Favorite toy? Loud purr? Good scratching post and litter box manners? Talkative? Is this a bonded pair? Funny or quirky behavior?

I understand that I will need to provide updated medical work for the cat(s) and make a minimum $200 donation (per cat), based on the health, age, and demeanor of cat(s). Once a home for the cat(s) has been found and the application approved, I understand I will be required to sign a release form relinquishing my rights towards this cat(s), including future contact with their new home.
